This is a small thumbnail sketch from my Moleskine of an idea for a new piece. For larger pieces I generally sketch out rough images of the concept as a guide. The piece is based on an experience I had as a child in which I came upon a crow, its head crushed between the white slats of a fence, beating its wings in vain effort to free itself.
I did this initial pinhole as a guide shot for using within the wings of the piece.

This is an initial comp of a three part piece that I have been commissioned to create for a law firm. These are scans of the paper negatives with text added in Photoshop. In the final piece the text will be created in negative.
